HVAC Technician (Air Conditioning Technician)

Role description

The Air Conditioning Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and primarily repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems installed on heavy equipment, trucks, construction machinery, and other mobile equipment. The role is focused on ensuring the reliability, functionality, and safety of these systems, enabling equipment to remain fully operational and available for use. In addition, the Air Conditioning Technician performs installation work and troubleshoots faults in climate control and refrigeration systems. A significant part of the role involves carrying out repairs in the field, where work may need to be performed under challenging and less comfortable conditions. Therefore, the incumbent is expected to be flexible, capable of working independently, and willing to perform duties at locations where working conditions may be physically demanding or operationally challenging.

As an Air Conditioning Technician, you ensure that air conditioning and refrigeration systems on heavy equipment, trucks, and other mobile machinery remain reliable, safe, and fully operational. By accurately diagnosing faults and performing high-quality repairs, you help minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability. Through your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently in the field, you make a direct contribution to operational continuity, equipment performance, and a safe working environment. What we ask of you

1. 01LBO, MBO, or equivalent technical qualification in Automotive Technology, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration Technology, or a related discipline.
2. 02A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the maintenance and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration systems is considered an advantage.
3. 03Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
4. 04Willingness and ability to work in varying weather conditions and at locations where working conditions may be physically demanding or less comfortable.
5. 05Experience using diagnostic and testing equipment.
