In the meantime, Aannemings Maatschappij Baitali (AMB) has been working on the ZWHBS for more than a year and the results are starting to become visible.
On Tuesday 19 February. was an info gathering organized to inform the residents and entrepreneurs of the Zwartenhovenbrugstraat, Dambrandersgracht – Dr. S. Redmondstraat about the upcoming work starting on February 26, 2019.
The work does not differ from those already carried out in the part of Zwartenhovenbrugstraat, located between the Drs SophieRedmond Straat and the Stoelmansstraat.
It is initially about rehabilitation work on the sewer system, but because it is in the road, the road as a whole is being re-built.
We make direct use of the opportunity to upgrade the sewer system, by installing a 2nd sewer system on both sides (parallel to) of the road. Here the houses and companies are connected. This lateral system discharges to the newly installed main sewer through so-called concrete coupling wells.
During the construction of the lateral system, the road will still be open to all traffic, but the available width for traffic is slightly reduced from 10m to ~ 7m.
The work fronts will be set off by placing construction fences, with which the work fronts are clearly visible and thus the overall safety on the spot is increased.
The next phase is for the construction of the main sewer, where part of the Zwartehovenbrugstraat will be completely closed for all driving and vehicles.
The pedestrians will be able to move freely in this area on the roadsides.
When the main sewer is installed the new road body will be raised, including the construction of new sidewalks, parking spaces, driveways and bus stops.
The start of this work is planned around the 2nd week of March, and will take place in the part of Zwartenhovenbrugstraat between the Prinsenstraat and the Saramaccastraat.
This work will take approximately 8-10 weeks, depending on the weather and local conditions.
After completion of this, the work of the main sewers will move further towards the south (to the Molenpad). The section located between the Prinsenstraat and the Drs Sophie Redmondstraat is then addressed.
