On 17 October 2018 was the launch of the rehabilitation of the road Jenny in Coronie to Henar in Nickerie. Baitali Group of companies performs the rehabilitation on behalf of the Ministry of Public Works, Transport & communication.
On August 14th, 2017 Aannemingsmaatschappij Baitali N.V. in collaboration with Haukes started working on the DRDA1 project for Suralco. The goal of this project is to rehabilitate Alcoa (Paranam) and remove all rest materials from the exploitation process of alum earth.
MACR Project = Meerzorg – Albina Corridor Rehabilitation. The construction of the road starting at the Wijdenbosch bridge up to Tamanredjo (km 20.500). In the term 2010 – 2015 the second part (km 10.500 – 20.500) of this project was executed and produced bij Aannemingsmaatschappij Baitali N.V. (AMB). The execution of the first part of this project (km 0 – 10.500) started in August 2017.
Originally the New Port of Paramaribo was built in the sixties as a bulk port. But through the years the shipping sector in Suriname evolved towards container transport. The docks and the hinterland were not adequately equipped for the expedition of containerships entering Suriname.
